Jan 23MUN puts the W in WRA! Solon Model United Nations Team competed on Friday and Saturday in the 2nd Western Reserve Academy Model UN Conference. With a theme of Lux et Veritas or Light and Truth, this conference featured three committees. In the Education, Scientific and Cultural Committee, George Hanna took the Gavel, In Human Rights, Avani Pham to Honorable Mention and Helen Otterman took the Outstanding Delegate, and in High Commission for Refugees, Solon swept the committee awards with Sanjana Ghosh taking Honorable Mention, Christian Poppell taking Outstanding Delegate and Rishabh Mehta taking the Gavel. A grand time was had by all, despite the cold travel conditions. MUN competes again next month. Interested in joining our club, see Dev Ahuja or Mr. Northrup in Room 239.

Jan 26Upcoming Blood Drive The American Red Cross is facing a national blood crisis – its worst blood shortage in over a decade, posing a concerning risk to patient care. SADD and the Red Cross Club are proud to partner in sponsoring a blood drive here at Solon High School on Friday, Feb. 11th from 8:30am-1:30pm. Please consider donating. You must be 17 years or older to give blood. Sign ups will be today through Tuesday outside the bookstore during all lunch periods. It’ll be the easiest life (or lives!) you’ve ever saved.
