Oct 30Fall sports athletes All fall sports athletes must remove their belonging and locks from the large sports lockers today. If you are still in Phys. Ed you must move to a small locker. Locks will be cut tomorrow so winter athletes can have a locker. Thank you.

Oct 24SADD AM and PM The 2024 National Red Ribbon Week Theme is, Life is a Movie; Film Drug Free! Beginning TOMORROW and Continuing into next week we will participate in the national RED RIBBON WEEK; where we as a school commit to living a DRUG FREE LIFESTYLE. We have exciting things planned so make sure to listen to announcements ! Themes for next week include TOMORROW - is a RED OUT to show your commitment to a DRUG FREE LIFESTYLE Monday- twin day Tuesday - Character Day, dress as your favorite book, tv show, or movie character! Wednesday- anything but a backpack Thursday- HALLOWEEN Each day that you participate you are eligible to win prizes at lunch as well as win a HR. competition. THE HR that has the MOST participants for the week will win a Movie day with popcorn and candy In the lecture hall!
Oct 25Red Ribbon Week Good Morning Solon Middle School, today begins RED RIBBON WEEK! SADD would like to announce that this year's National Theme was created by one of SOLON MIDDLE SCHOOLS VERY OWN STUDENTS>DEVANSH AGARWAL who is a part of the 8N team ! He submitted an entry last year as a 7th grader in Mrs. Hosaphels class. His theme was chosen and is being represented and displayed in schools all around the country. The theme this year is LIFE IS A MOVIE: FILM DRUG FREE! If you see Devansh in the hallway today give him a high five or a fist bump for this amazing achievement! Alright now a little bit of information about RED RIBBON WEEK... Have you ever heard of red ribbon week? Do you know its purpose? Well… red ribbon week is a drug prevention program and it educates and spreads awareness about how dangerous drugs can be! This week our school will celebrate the choice and commitment of being DRUG FREE!

Please sign up for wrestling in Final forms which can be found on the solon schools website under athletics. You must be signed up to receive important information about the start of the season. Have you ever thought about how red ribbon week started? It was a week that was started when drug traffickers in Mexico City murdered an American DEA agent in 1985. This began the continuing tradition of displaying red ribbons as a symbol of intolerance towards the use of drugs. The mission of the campaign is to present a unified and visible commitment toward the creation of a DRUG FREE AMERICA.

Oct 31New Club Alert! Attention all puzzlers! Do you want to fully master the infamous Rubik’s Cube? Want to impress your friends with lightening speed puzzling? Come join us in room 225 this Tuesday 11/5 from 3:30 - 4:00. A fellow peer and Rubik’s cube master will walk you through the basics, help you learn, and guide you towards becoming a real pro!! See Mrs. Macek with any questions and if you can - please bring your own cube!
