Mar 12Say Something Week- Upstander Tuesday Today’s Say Something message is about Warning Signs. Warning signs can signal the potential for danger if no action is taken. Warning signs of school violence can include but are not limited to: a sudden change in someone’s behavior, thoughts of harm to self or others, and making direct threats towards others. If you notice warning signs, Say Something to a trusted adult to keep yourself and the community safe.
Mar 13Say Something Week- Who’s With Me Wednesday Today for Say Something we are going to highlight Upstanders. Upstanders are people who speak up or act in support of others. An upstander is someone who steps in to stop a bully, helps out a classmate in need, or supports others in asking for help. By recognizing warning signs and saying something to a trusted adult, everyone at SMS can be an Upstander
Mar 13Spirit Week Starting March 18th, we will be celebrating Spirit Week to mark the beginning of the 4th quarter. The week will include the following themed days: Adam Sandler Day on Monday, Sports Shirt Day on Tuesday, Hawaiian Day on Wednesday, Throwback to the 90s on Thursday, and Super Solon Spirit Day on Friday. Let's all participate and have fun!
Mar 14Say Something Week- Trusted Adult Thursday Today’s Say Something spotlight is on Trusted Adults. Trusted adults are adults that students feel comfortable going to for support. This could be for help in a class, getting advice, or expressing our feelings. Trusted adults can also help keep our community safe. Go to a trusted adult if you have a concern about something you see or hear about at school. By talking to trusted adults when we are concerned, we can help keep SMS safe.
